Barack Obama's Economic Plan

Not that anyone really cares about Barack Obama's economic plan. I mean, like, it's not as important as what kind of mutt, er, dog Obama's getting or the dress Michelle is wearing to the inaugural. Still I think we should at least take a look at the economic plan Barack Obama is getting ready to implement.

Enact a Windfall Profits Tax to Provide
a $1,000 Emergency Energy Rebate to
American Families: Barack Obama and
Joe Biden will enact a windfall profits
tax on excessive oil company profits to
give American families an immediate
$1,000 emergency energy rebate to
help families pay rising bills. This relief
would be a down payment on the Obama-
Biden long-term plan to provide middle-
class families with at least $1,000 per year
in permanent tax relief.

So Messrs. Barack Obama and Joe Biden, what exactly is the definition of an excessive profit?
This chart from Texas Rainmaker shows a comparison of profits of oil companies to other industries. The statistics raise some serious questions. The average profit in the oil industry is 8.2%. If that is not a fair profit Mr. Obama, what do you plan on doing about the industries making a larger profit than the oil companies?

As for permanent tax relief, why a rebate? Why not just lower the taxes of all Americans? The government taketh away and then the government giveth back? Seems like it would be cheaper to eliminate the middleman, er, the government. What a concept that would be. A smaller government. Sounds like a conservative idea, to bad Obama and Biden are Marxist.

Provide $50 billion to Jumpstart
the Economy and Prevent 1 Million
Americans from Losing Their Jobs:
This relief would include a $25 billion
State Growth Fund to prevent state
and local cuts in health, education,
housing, and heating assistance or
counterproductive increases in
property taxes, tolls or fees. The
Obama-Biden relief plan will also
include $25 billion in a Jobs and
Growth Fund to prevent cutbacks
in road and bridge maintenance
and fund school repair - all to save
more than 1 million jobs in danger
of being cut.

Gotta love that. The Barack Obama government is going to print $50 billion new dollars to bail out state and local governments. No hint on where the money will come from, maybe Barack Obama is going to establish a windfall tax on all companies that make 8% profit or more each year?

If Barack Obama really wanted to eliminate job loss, he would eliminate taxes. It's really that simple if you thing about it. Corporations and people will move to areas with no or little taxes. Think what would happen to the economy if we had no taxes. Sony, Mercedes and every other corporation in the world would be trying to move to America, instead of American companies moving to Dubai. The billions that would have been paid to the government in the form of taxes will now be invested back into the economy. But of course if there where no taxes, how would we fund the government? AH! Now I see the light, all this is not about saving jobs or improving the economy. Barack Obama is all about power and government control.

I will repeat that, Barack Obama's economic plan is not about saving jobs or improving the economy. Barack Obama's economic plan is about establishing a Marxist government, the destruction of our capitalist system, the destruction of our constitution and consolidation of power within his own elite circle.

But hey, at least he is for "change." LOL Got a quarter mister?

In Defense Of Capitalism

From Ayn Rand: "No man has the right to seek values from others by means of physical force--i.e., no man or group has the right to initiate the use of physical force against others. Men have the right to use force only in self-defense and only against those who initiate its use. Men must deal with one another as traders, giving value for value, by free, mutual consent to mutual benefit. The only social system that bars physical force from human relationships is laissez-faire capitalism.

Capitalism is a system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property right, in which the only function of the government is to protect individual rights, i.e., to protect men from those who initiate the use of physical force. I reject any form of fascism or socialism. I also reject any form of a mixed economy that regulates and redistributes wealth."

I do not imagine that every person who joins or reads The Political Coffeehouse would agree with my exact philosophy. But I do believe that we should join together to in order to further goals that we can agree on. The implementation of Marxist policies in the United States must be stopped. J. Michael Warner
