Worn Out Ideas Like Capitalism

Turn on the radio and what do we hear? Glenn Beck ranting and raving about capitalism. Capitalism? Capitalism is so yesterday! Yet here Glenn Beck is, capitalism, blah, blah blah.

From the Glenn Beck Radio: "But who's got my back? Capitalism does. You don't just throw capitalism under the bus because it's popular. Capitalism defeated the Nazis. Capitalism liberated millions, prevented the enslavement of millions across Europe. Capitalism is the reason there's a Jew on the planet. Capitalism won the Cold War. It crushed the Soviet Union. It crushed communism. And then we started to embrace communism and socialism, and it's about to crush us. Not only did capitalism defeat the Soviets on the battlefield but it defeated the communists and the Soviets on the fields of science and medicine and technology. Capitalism isn't about business. Capitalism isn't about Wal-Mart. Capitalism isn't about Exxon. Capitalism is about you and your dream. It's not about how business is done. That's where greed comes in. Capitalism is the vehicle. It doesn't matter who's driving it. It doesn't care who's driving it. It's just a vehicle. It's like saying that your car, it makes a difference if you get into it or your wife. Your wife driving your car, your car doesn't care who's driving it. Neither does capitalism. When it's unleashed, it doesn't make judgments. That's why the individual plays such an important role. That's why you being somebody that you can look somebody in the eye and say my word is my bond. That's why it makes a difference because capitalism will eat everything up around it. But if it's wielded by a dirty guy, if it's wielded by somebody who just doesn't care, it will eventually eat them as well, if they're allowed to fail. If they're not allowed to fail, then it turns into something called fascism, which isn't capitalism, although it ends in the same three letters. Isn't that weird.

Capitalism is a vehicle and you're the driver. As the individual, you make the difference. You put your key in. Your key is your imagination. You turn the key with your work ethic ask you steer it with your morals. That's when capitalism beats everything else on the road. It's the driver. It's not just the car. It's the driver. It gives the individual the opportunity to put their dreams into that ignition and start it up, unleash the power of the individual. The power that gave the United States about the same GDP as Japan, Germany, China and the United Kingdom combined."

You have to admit it, Glenn Beck is just one sick twisted freak! Glenn Beck just does not seem to get it. America wants change, not some twisted old fashioned idea like capitalism. Whatever happened to ideas like take from the rich and give to the poor. I thought Glenn Beck was supposed to be a Christian or a Mormon or something like that. I mean like, what right do we as Americans have to a better economy than the rest of the world, that's not fair. Glenn Beck, "Capitalism crushed communism"? What right did we have crushing communism. That does not sound like a very fair thing to do.

Glenn Beck just does not get it, capitalism is dead, long live capitalism!

MESSAGE TO EVERY MEMBER OF CONGRESS:

When counting the electoral votes, either Congress finds by 1/8/09 that Obama — not being an Article II “natural born citizen” (father Kenyan/British, not American, citizen) — fails to qualify as President whereupon Biden becomes the full fledged President under 3 USC 19 (free to pick his own VP such as Hillary) or thereafter defers to the Supreme Court to enjoin Obama’s inauguration with Biden becoming only Acting President under the 20th Amendment until a new President is duly determined.

The preferable choice, at least for the Democrats, should seem obvious.

Well Ted I have to admire your sticking to this subject, but do you think you could leave a comment every no and then that has to with the posted article?

In Defense Of Capitalism

From Ayn Rand: "No man has the right to seek values from others by means of physical force--i.e., no man or group has the right to initiate the use of physical force against others. Men have the right to use force only in self-defense and only against those who initiate its use. Men must deal with one another as traders, giving value for value, by free, mutual consent to mutual benefit. The only social system that bars physical force from human relationships is laissez-faire capitalism.

Capitalism is a system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property right, in which the only function of the government is to protect individual rights, i.e., to protect men from those who initiate the use of physical force. I reject any form of fascism or socialism. I also reject any form of a mixed economy that regulates and redistributes wealth."

I do not imagine that every person who joins or reads The Political Coffeehouse would agree with my exact philosophy. But I do believe that we should join together to in order to further goals that we can agree on. The implementation of Marxist policies in the United States must be stopped. J. Michael Warner
