An accident involving an overturned truck carrying 7,000 gallons of unrefined motor oil, caused Highway 14 to be closed down due to oil spill. The accident took place around 10:05 a.m. on Wednesday.
According to California Highway Patrol, the accident involved a 1999 Peterbuilt pulling a trailer loaded with oil. The car was traveling northbound on Sierra Highway through the town of Mojave, when the driver turned the vehicle to the right to travel northbound on Highway 14.
The CHP stated that the speed of the vehicle, along with the wet roadway caused the driver to lose control. The truck ended up on its side and caused the trailer to rupture, spilling the entire load of the oil.
The driver of the vehicle, was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital suffering from major injuries. Cal Trans was responsible for the clean-up of the roadway.

The kit is unsafe becasue it may contain a potential contamination of the iodine prep pads which were manufactured by the Triad Group. This product was originally recalled on May 5, 2011. North American Rescue, LLC has contacted approximately 97% of our customers and urged them to consult with the customer service department for return instructions.

A man was fatally struck by a pickup truck Wednesday morning while he was reportedly walking a herd of sheep near State Route 115. The 31-year-old man was reportedly walking the herd of sheep from a nearby field situated near the Norrish Road and SR 115 intersection. A 68-year-old man driving a pickup truck heading towards the intersection reportedly could not see the herd and struck several sheep’s before colliding with the man, the California Highway Patrol said. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at about 60 mph when the incident took place. The CHP is currently investigating the crash.
