Balticcollagen.us Scam Heists Thousands

June 23rd, 2011

It is one of the most recent scams, and one from which the general public can learn. Thebalticcollagen.us scam is a direct reminder that the general public is never safe from online scammers.

The Internet domain is composed of many different extensions (i.e., .com, .org, .net, .us, etc.) A case in point, two polish immigrants used the balticcollagen.us domain in attempt to hijack the leading distributor of an anti aging product line, known as Baltic Collagen. The .us extension was used to disguise themselves as the official North American distributor, when in fact they are anything but.

Consumers are mislead to the website via online message forums where the Chicago based immigrants call themselves the actual or official distributor in attempt to mislead consumers into buying from balticcollagen.us, offering no express or implied guarantee on the product(s) sold. It is not confirmed whether or not the product is legitimate or safe. It is apparent that the product line is from Poland, a developing country in transition.

It is unknown how much money they have made from this scandal. The Polish natives operating the domain have not been disclosed. More on this story in developing news.
