What Happened To The New Civility

I was online one day reading about how a politician received death threats and had people banging on his window and daring him to come out when the disagreed with what he had to say in his speech. It was at that time that I wondered to myself about what happened to The New Civility. After all we all have our own opinions and it was just not right for people to handle this situation in the manner that they did.
